The home was totally rebuilt in 2002, maintaining the colonial style, by one of the leading colonial architects in Nicaragua.

Casa La Gran Sultana is definitely GRAND. Upon entering the home, you will find a large living area with beautiful old style rocking chairs and antiques. The home opens to a wide corridor with additional seating and a beautiful garden area. The garden has a beautiful fountain which attracts many birds, including a variety of hummingbirds. What makes the colonial homes in Granada so special is the indoor gardens and the all the space open to the outdoors. Along the corridor you will find two comfortable bedrooms with a large connecting bath. The kitchen is located at the center of the home between the two outer gardens. It is spacious and has everything you need to prepare a meal or just a simple snack. A third bedroom is located in the back garden area and has bunk style twin beds and a full bath.

Upstairs, not only is the view spectacular but the two large bedrooms open onto the patio. The master bedroom has air conditioning, a private bath, king bed and large closet. The second upstairs room has a private bath, one two full beds, a twin bed and a ceiling fan. The antique wood staircase and wood floors not only are beautiful but will take you back in time when things were just a bit simpler.
